After another disappointing night on the road whereby another defeat failed to provide a spark to smooth the journey home, Roy Hodgson, in his post match press conference, spoke about the need to remain clam and the need not to panic when he discussed what had gone on at the Stadium of Light and also that damned away record, when he remarked,

“We always knew the first goal would be decisive. No complaints though. Perhaps we deserved more and on another night we would have won.”

“The away record is a concern. No one is safe but we showed we have the quality and work-rate to survive.”

“It`s very tight. Yet I don`t think there is any point the black cap on and going all doom and gloom after a defeat or, after a win, talking about the UEFA Cup.”

“I`ve just never known a season like it.”

A concern Roy! It`s becoming a noose around our necks (again)!
