At sixty years of age, the appointment of Roy Hodgson as our new manager does seem a strange decision.
Roy, who has had a varied career around Europe, has never really set the managerial world alight with his achievements and at sixty is hardly likely to be around for a decade or so.
However, in the post appointment press conference, he made all the right noises but don`t they always?
Here`s what Hodgson had to say,
“After long talks with the chairman and the board, I am convinced we can take Fulham to a new level.”
“I am determined we will overcome the current position which I understand will be a challenge but one that I will relish.”
“I`m very much looking forward to training with the team on Sunday and will off course be at St Andrew`s to watch the clash against Birmingham.”
Maybe, at St Andrews, you might just see the enormity of the task you`ve taken on Roy!
