With the Andrew Johnson saga still unresolved, Roy Hodgson has given an insight into proceedings by proclaiming,

“Negotiations are still going on and we hope to sign the player.”

“It will be a very good signing for the club if we can do it. I would expect the deal to be done this week.”

“If we can get Andy Johnson alongside Bobby Zamora – and with the type of players we`ve got in midfield – we are looking a stronger team on paper than last season.”

From what we can make out, the ongoing problems with the transfer relate to an x-ray that showed some damage in the area of an old injury.

Currently, Fulham are negotiating with Everton to lower the fee or, we believe, inserting clauses into the deal relating to further money being paid dependent on the number of appearances Johnson makes.

We`ll try and keep you posted on any further developments.

  • welll i think theylll clal the deal off now becuase if we want to slash 4 million of that then they think that will be a bad deal but if the original price of it was 12 million id pay 10 million with 2 million in add ons

  • oh and also can someone tell me whats happend to the simunic deal i presume its flalen through or seomthing and what baout grella n all

  • I hope we know what we’re doing! If Everton pull the plug and sell him on to Wigan we’ll be left without the second quality striker that Roy wants.
