Hoddle – A Candidate?

With speculation growing that we could be witnessing the last few days of the tenure of Lawrie Sanchez as Fulham manager an unlikely name has been thrown into the proverbial hat.

That of Glen Hoddle!

The fixture this weekend, against Wigan Athletic, is now being viewed as a critical game. A defeat would leave Sanchez desperately avoiding that dreaded phone call to report to the boardroom waiting for the axe to be swung.

Indeed, our recent poll suggests that the vast majority of you wouldn`t be adverse to making that phone call yourselves with in excess of 90% of you currently keen to see him removed from office.

Nevertheless, if his tenure is to come to an end, would Glen Hoddle be the answer?

Apart from having served time down the road at Stamford Bridge his curriculum vitae has some outstanding pointers that he has all the tools for the job, unfortunately, he`s been out of the game for some time and further dissection of his curriculum vitae would suggest he`s hardly filled any trophy cabinet with silverware.

In fact, if Sanchez were to be removed we face the age old problem of selecting a successor.

Would Al Fayed and his board go for a tried and trusted manager or would they take a risk with a high profile (but not proven in the Premier League) foreigner?

With our Premier League status at stake, it`s a decision that you feel could, in one way or another, make or break our fine club.

Therefore, seeing as I`ve gone all around the houses in this debate with myself, I have to ask would it not be better to stick with Sanchez, at least until the end of the season?

Your thoughts please!
