After finally securing the services of Aleksandar Mitrovic on a permanent basis, after it looked as if securing a deal with Newcastle United might not happen, speculation has emerged that the Serbian is the subject of interest of another Premier League side.
According to the popular Sunday tabloid publication, the Mirror, our neighbours Chelsea are said to be interested in acquiring the services of the deadly Serbian.
There’s no doubting that since his arrival at Craven Cottage, firstly on loan and then in a £22 million deal, Mitrovic has been an essential cog in our side. Already, this season, he’s shown that he can score as prolifically in the top-flight of English football as he did in the Championship.
No doubt we’re flattered by Chelsea’s interest but we see no reason why Fulham would consider a sale, Mitrovic put pen-to-paper on a contract in the summer and Fulham are not in a position whereby they need to raise funds.
Here at Vital Fulham, we reckon Chelsea will get no joy from Fulham if they make a move and will be forced to look elsewhere.
