Last season Aleksandar Mitrovic, upon joining Fulham on loan in the January transfer window, played a pivotal part in Fulham getting promoted.
The Serbian joining the club coincided with the club setting a new record for the number of league games unbeaten.
But, once his loan spell was up, come the end of the season, it looked as if the player might not be coming to Craven Cottage on a permanent basis, with Newcastle and Fulham haggling over the fee.
However, eventually a deal was done and Mitrovic is now a Fulham player on a permanent basis.
It hasn’t taken Mitrovic long to make his mark in the top-flight and already he’s up there at the top of the scoring charts, something we hope may long continue.
But, an interesting fact has come to light.
It seems that since joining Fulham, back in January 2018 and making his debut in February, no player has scored more than the 16 goals Mitrovic has scored in English league football.
