Giant German Barnsley goalkeeper Heinz Muller could only sit and watch his dream move to the Premiership collapsed around him.

Muller was set to join Roy Hodgson side in a move that would see us spending around £1.5m plus Tony Warner. This also explains why Warner has only joined on a 28 day loan. Due to Muller’s injury Fulham refused to allow Warner to join permanently unless Barnsley stumped up a fee.

Muller will definitely miss the rest of the season and will have surgery in Germany after some very serious damage to his anterior cruciate ligament. There is also some damage to his lateral meniscus.

If that didn’t sound bad enough Barnsley Physio Richard Kay told their website:

‘The MRI scan was a little cloudy because of all the blood in the area so we are unsure as to whether Heinz has ruptured his cruciate or not’

The 29 year old 6 foot 5 stopper managed in a Norwegian commercial, to save three high shots, blindfolded.

All the best of luck Heinz! Hope all goes well.
