Yesterday, ahead of the game against Aston Villa, I pointed out in an article that with six games to go our position replicated that of the season whereby we escaped to Premier League safety on the final day of the season.
On that occasion we managed to in four of our last six games and yesterday, probably needing something similar, we got three valuable points to move a touch closer to safety courtesy of a winning goal from Hugo Rodallega.
After the game, with the travelling support heading south buoyed by the win, Felix Magath had this to say to the media,
‘It was a great victory for us. I feel very proud of my team. We fought back and we won a big game.”
‘Richardson’s goal was goal of the month. He’s a very important player for us, but after their equaliser we came back to fight and that was very important for us.”
‘With this victory, we are very confident to go on for the rest of the season.’
Next week we entertain a struggling Norwich side, another game we just have to win (and can)!
