Dnipro, Fulham’s Europa League play-off opponents, are going to be far from easy, as Brede Hangeland knows.

The defender, as he told the official website, is expecting a tough game against the Ukrainian side the ‘toughest yet’ in Fulham’s Europa League qualification campaign.

Being so close to the Europa League proper though is driving him on to wanting to help Fulham make it as its a competition the club have happy memories of in recent times: ‘we expect it to be the toughest tie yet.

‘But that’s what you have to expect the closer you get to the group stage – from which we are now just two games away from.

‘Of course, we want to do well in the UEFA Europa League and we want to make sure that coming back so early hasn’t been for nothing because this is a competition that we all have good memories from.’

Someone that will be familiar to all is former Spurs boss Juande Ramos; he is now in charge of Dnipro.
