Groundhog Day For Fulham As Another Defeat Seriously Threatens Any Chance We Have Of Staying Up

|

After the splendid win against Brighton and Hove Albion, in midweek, confidence was high as we made the short trip, across London, to take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

But, apart from a brief opening flurry whereby we looked as if we’d taken our form from the last game into this one, it was a familiar story, with the game ending in yet another defeat for Fulham.

The defeat means that Fulham have now lost 16 of the 25 Premier League games they’ve played this season and are nineteenth in the table, a massive seven points from safety, with just 13 games to go.

After the defeat and as quoted by the BBC, Claudio Ranieri looked as despondent as the rest of us, remarking:

“The service to Mitrovic was not good enough. We spoke a lot about crosses, crosses, crosses. I tried to do something – I put another striker on but it wasn’t good.

“The first half was good until the penalty, we had the match in our hands. But they deserved to win in the second half, they were better than us.”

It’s hard to admit it but, at the moment, almost every team we play is better than us!

Will things get any better soon?

I doubt it, our next game sees us, next Saturday, welcome in-form Manchester United to Craven Cottage.

That sinking feeling is fast overwhelming me, how about you?
