Yesterday it was the keeper from Charlton, Ben Hamer, who was our supposed target, today it is someone with a much higher profile.
The tabloid press are in unison that Martin Jol is very keen to bring the Dutch keeper Maarten Stekelenburg to Craven Cottage.
Apparently, the 30 year-old, currently on the books of AS Roma, has failed to secure a regular starting spot and Jol would like to bring him to West London to provide competition for the ageing Mark Schwarzer, with the move happening, if Jol succeeds, in January.
