Out of favour Fulham Goal-keeper Jaroslav Drobny is set to join Champions League contenders Dynamo Kiev after being shunted aside at Fulham.
The Czech keeper joined Dutch side ADO Den Haag on loan in the January transfer window,after having a tough time getting into the starting XI at Fulham and was not really needed by manager Chris Coleman.
However, his agent Pavel Zika has now confirmed new attention has been received, with a move to Ukraine understood to be on offer. He said: ‘I will not announce which club it is, but I can reveal it is a club playing in this year’s UEFA Champions League. I cannot confirm it is Dynamo Kiev. The deal is not completed.’
Drobny arrived in England from Greek division one side Panionios in the summer break of 2005 as a replacement for Edwin Van der Sar. However, the 26-year-old soon suffered a knee injury during pre-season, and by the time he recovered he found himself behind Mark Crossley and Tony Warner in Coleman’s plans. The decision to turn Warner’s temporary move from Cardiff City into a permanent deal and the arrival of Antti Niemi from Southampton left Drobny in little doubt that his Fulham career was going nowhere.
