Have you often wondered if all the stick handed out to Bobby Zamora about not getting his full quota of goals bothers the man?

I certainly have!

We all know that confidence plays a major part when it comes players performing at 100% and it can`t be gratifying to see your name constantly linked with a poor goals per game ratio.

But, thankfully, Bobby appears unfazed by all the criticism heaped his way and after being the leading light in our 3-0 Europa League Qualifying tie, he had this to say,

“It is nice to score but, after last season, nobody looks at me for goals. It`s not the major part of my game that everyone thinks.”

“As long as the build up play is on form, I`m happy. If goals come, it`s a bonus. It`s nice to prove people wrong.”

You tell them Bobby mate!

  • He is an essential part of our game, holding player up front. If we get 8-10 goals per season plus 10 assists per season, he has done his job.

  • i’d agree there… i’d be interesting to see if what he said about himself leading the team in assists is true… but he definitely contributed a lot last season…

  • I don’t think he is that essential. Sure, he is our only hold up player, but he only got about 6 assists last season which isnt spectacular, it is respectable. I think he and AJ would be the easiest players to replace though I will give him one more chance.

  • I’m prepared to stand up and say, I’d be happy for him to stay. Give him a 2nd chance I say! This season he could so easily prove all the doubters wrong…
