We all know that Bobby Zamora has been carrying an injury in recent weeks.
But, to see Bobby limp off so early in the second half last night was concerning.
Hopefully, Bobby will be fit for the second leg of the semi-final, in a weeks time, and we wouldn`t be surprised if he`s rested for the long trip to Everton this Sunday.
After the game, (Sir) Roy Hodgson remarked about the problems Bobby has had, injury wise, in recent weeks, commenting,
“Zamora has had this problem with his Achilles for some while and he has missed one or two league matches as a result,”
“He trained okay yesterday and we were hoping he would get through the game but as you could see in the first half he was struggling with it.”
“The medical staff gave him the all-clear to start the second half but warned me I might have to take him off and unfortunately that happened very early in the second half.”
A side without Bobby leading the attack is something Hamburg would relish next Thursday!
