Fulham – Zamora and the Bust-Up!

If Fulham are to move into the last eight of the Europa League tonight, there`ll be no margin for error.

The slightest defensive lapse could prove disastrous and any missed chances could be rued.

One player who the supporter`s will be banking on to fire us towards a last eight fixture is Bobby Zamora.

Championed by many to be a part of Fabio Capello`s World Cup squad this summer, the goals have dried up in recent games for our top scorer. Nevertheless, we all know that when the drought ends there could well be a flood.

On the eve of the most important game of our European adventure, Bobby has taken time out to speak about the strange situation whereby he saw fit to mutter expletives after scoring against Sunderland, expletives that were aimed in the direction of the Fulham support, a situation he now feels has come to its conclusion, remarking,

“I suppose there`s been a bit of tit-for-tat, some fans have given me a bit of abuse.”

“They`ve had their go and I`ve had mine I suppose and we just have to move on.”

“I`ve silenced the one or two people who have aimed it at me, now it`s been swept under the carpet and I`m just looking to continue to do well, scoring goals and try to push on with the club.”

“I have probably turned a few people and, I suppose, just rubbed their noses in it.”

“It`s not the reason behind a good season, not at all. It`s just a little sideline that`s been picked up on and blown up.”

“My success is down to the hard work from the team itself and all the staff at the club.”

We`d say the humble pie has been served up, eaten and digested, so how about a brace tonight Bobby to see us through against Juventus?
