News broke yesterday that one of Fulham`s talented crop of youngsters had been allowed to go on loan to gain some valuable first-team experience.

The youngster in question is our nineteen-year-old striker Stephen Humphrys.

Humphrys, who on the eve of being sent out on loan, signed a new contract at Craven Cottage that will see him tied to the club until 2020.

However, the youngster will play the remainder of the 2016 / 2017 season on loan at the League One side, Shrewsbury Town.

The youngster has created quite an impression this season, scoring 12 goals in 13 U23 games this season whilst also making that breakthrough into the first team in the 2-2 draw away to Derby County in the Championship and going on to make three appearances.

Discussing the loan move to Shrewsbury, Humphrys is quoted as having remarked,

‘It just seems like a really nice club to be at.

‘The standard here is really good, there’s some good players and hopefully the team will pull together.’

Here at Vital Fulham we wish the lad well on his loan experience.
