Just a matter of days ago we covered the speculation linking Fulham with a move for the Swansea City centre-back Alfie Mawson.

In our article, Click Here, we mentioned that the 24-year-old was also wanted by West Ham United and Burnley.

Today, according to the respected news source, Sky Sports, it would appear that when it comes to a deal, things are now starting to move.

Our referenced source is reporting that Fulham appears to be leading the race to sign the defender and that talks are at an advanced stage between the two clubs.

Here at Vital Fulham, we’re keeping our fingers crossed that this deal comes to a successful conclusion.

Mawson is an outstanding young centre-back and there’s every chance he could go on to become one of the best in the division.

Also, his experience in the Premier League, with Swansea City, should stand him in good stead as Fulham, in under two weeks’ time, make a return to top-flight football.

Perhaps, if we all keep our fingers crossed the announcement will be forthcoming that the player has signed for Fulham Football Club.
