After being linked with Paul Scharner on a couple of occasions, could now be the time to sign him?

It`s been stated more times than I care to remember that Fulham need to bolster their squad ahead of their Europa League campaign and on more than one occasion we`ve been linked with the aforementioned Austrian.

Well know, courtesy of a leading tabloid, it appears that the door may be open for a move for the player who can play either as a defender or a midfielder.

The Wigan chairman, Dave Whelan, is quoted as saying,

“If he asked if he could go, we`d say yes.”

But, the Wigan owner has carefully omitted to leak any references to a suitable price.

What do you think, is Scharner a decent target considering his versatility?

  • Exactly! £6m is too much. I don’t mind signing him, but like Zimmer2002 noted, he is 29, and I think I made I’ve made my position clear that our age will become an issue over next few seasons. I say no more than £3.5 and no more than a 2 year deal.

  • Vital Wigan are suggesting that we might be readying a bid of £4m. For that kind of money, I would rather go after Cattermole.
