Early February after the Villa win, I wrote about the fun returning for us long suffering fans and quoted the words of Sir Bobby regarding the friendly face of the club, written quite some time ago.
How ironic that I now read on one of our forums, one frequented by intelligent and witty people that the club has banned a certain number of die hard away-traveling fans for minimal standing during that game, and a number of other cases have also come to light.
The one thing that stands out though from these episodes is that these fans, and we are talking every-game fans here, have NO right of appeal whatsoever, they are guilty as charged, with no right of reply, usually on the say so of a bouncer cum thug mascarading as a steward.
The club seems to have at least addressed this and some fans have been invited to the club to have their say. Some of the things i have read regarding long standing fans appalls me and have certainly angered me.
I feel any fans who have witnessed these incidents or indeed been involved in any over zealous stewarding at our games to get in touch with the club as soon as possible, there are too many fans refusing to renew their season tickets next season, these fans deserve our backing, and the club needs to reinstate them as soon as possible.
