I guess us getting a point at the Emirates Stadium was one of the unlikelier results this weekend.

I`d imagine the soccer pundits, well the ones I looked at predictions for, are lying a little lower this morning as they spread the jam on their croissants.

Once again we proved that we can battle but that, when called for, we can all play a little, as Arsene Wenger found out.

Perhaps we never exerted as much pressure as Arsenal but isn`t that only to be expected seeing as Arsenal were the home side?

In his post match press conference, Roy Hodgson makes a similar point, citing the fact that Mark Schwarzer was the busier of the two keepers whilst also pointing out that we created Arsne Wenger`s side problems when he remarks,

“When Arsenal got behind us, they tested Mark Schwarzer more than we tested Manuel Almunia,’

‘We could have made him make more saves, but in general it’s a good draw for us.”

‘There were times in the game when we played to our full potential.”

‘We were a constant threat and we carved out many opportunities. Arsenal are an offensive side at home and we matched them. “

‘We were well organised and the shape of our team was good.”

‘We have come here and got a point and that wasn’t down to a siege mentality.”

It certainly wasn`t Roy, in fact despite not scoring it gave me almost as much pleasure as the comfortable win over West Brom did last week.

  • agreed….it was as pleasurable as the wba game, we played very, very well. we deserved more than a point in the end i think….its just unfortunate it didn’t come!!

  • yeah it was a good game, would have bin great if 1 of them early chances went in,the midfield was awsome,so was the defence, roy has them playin well

  • 8th position. highest ever for your team…..Can you stay there or go higher????……Roy is indeed a good coach.

  • very true quietman…..roy is a good coach…and yes, we certainly can hold our position or even go higher!! 😀

  • Well done Fulham, no team apart from Manchester United has come to the Emirates and tried to play football like that, and that includes AC Milan, Chelsea and Roma. Gave as good as you got and a little more. Roy’s done a great job there. All the best.

  • We passed Arsenal off the park at times and exposed the fact that they’re desperate for a decent defensive midfielder. Near the end of the game there was a period when we out together a string of 20-25 passes. We could have easily nicked it with and there were a couple of quality saves from Schwarzer too. Really impressed.

  • don’t forget we have a game in hand against blackburn… i’m looking forward to a top ten finish this year. and as long as we hold onto roy, i think we’ll be ok going forward.
