Disappointingly, following on from Fulham`s draw at Fratton Park, Roy Hodgson chose to focus on Harry Redknapp a lot in his post match interview.
Now, we`ll accept that Harry is something of a football icon when it comes to wheeler-dealing but we`d have preferred to hear more about what Roy thought of our performance.
However, we should be grateful for small mercies and subsequently thi sis the gist of what Roy said yesterday, if you cut the Harry bits out,
‘Portsmouth are a good team with big, strong defenders, hard-working midfielders and dangerous strikers. So this is a good result.”
‘We have a lot of spirit and it is important that we keep that spirit because this team will get stronger.”
‘I can never accuse my team of lacking effort and we need to pick up as many points so that we can move up the table.’
