After the disappointment of losing the Championship play-off semi-final to Reading, we`re left to contemplate at least one more season in the Championship.

However, having failed at the play-off stages, there are concerns that the club may well struggle to hang on to the better players in the squad, most notably Tom Cairney and Ryan Sessegnon.

But, speaking to the media, Slavisa Jokanovic expects his best players to remain at Craven Cottage with the boss remarking to the local media,

‘I expect our best players to stay with us next season, this is the information I have been given from the club’s board.”

Which is good news for the club.

But, this season, the squad has been blessed with a number of quality loan players, with the likes of Tomas Kalas (Chelsea), Chris Martin (Derby) and Lucas Piazon (Chelsea), all playing their part,

However, when it came to the possibility of retaining those players, Jokanovic was less confident, further remarking,

‘The situation keeping hold of the loan players isn’t in my hands, it depends on different clubs and I’ve been very happy with the cooperation we’ve had this season.”

I guess we`ll all have to just sit back and wait and see.
