After the signing of Stephen Kelly, from Birmingham, there could be the hint of a suggestion that Roy`s only summer signing of the transfer window so far, could be ear-marked to oust John Pantsil from his right back position.
Well apparently not!
Roy Hodgson, speaking whilst on the Australian tour, has assured John that he will start next season where he ended the last, in the starting eleven, remarking,
“John was excellent for us last season, and it`s his shirt to lose. But of all the places in the team where there is pressure for places, that`s probably one of the hot-spots.”
“Apart from John and Stephen, we`ve got Chris Baird and Freddie Stoor awaiting their chance, so it`s not a position we need to revisit for some time to come.’
Nice one Roy, John deserves nothing less!
