For many yesterday was a sad day with the news announced that Moritz Volz was, finally, going to Ipswich Town.

The popular German has joined the Suffolk side on a season long loan deal after a last minute obstacle, believed to be Fulham requesting a loan fee for the deal, was overcome.

There are many, who visit this site, who believe that Volz still has a future at Craven Cottage and that for some weird reason Roy doesn’t rate him.

Roy remarked,

‘I think that’s a good move for Moritz, he hasn’t had too many chances here.’

‘When he has the opportunity to play more regularly at a top club like Ipswich, it would have been wrong for us to block that.’

Volz is still relatively young and has always done a steady job for us, rarely letting us down. Therefore it’ll be interesting to see how, at a lower level, Volz performs.

Will he lead the Suffolk club into the Premier League? I guess we’ll have to wait and see but like his fellow professional, Elliot Omozusi, I bet he’s marked a certain date in his diary – the Ipswich v Norwich derby days!
