The Daily Star is reporting that Fulham are keeping tabs on Seattle Sounders striker Fredy Montero.
The 21-year-old Colombian has scored 9 goals in 15 matches for the MLS side this season.
Montero is on-loan from Colombian side Deportivo Cali. Montero is a natural goal scorer.
In 89 professional matches (Deportivo Cali, Atlético Huila & Seattle), he`s scored 49 goals.
He has great skill on the ball and is very fast.
His obvious skill aside, I don`t put much stock in this report.
His slight build (approx. 5`8″, 155 lbs) and speed translate better to La Liga than the Premier League; where a physical presence is usually a requirement for successful strikers.
Additionally, the Seattle club is in their inaugural season in MLS and Montero is their superstar.
I seriously doubt they would let him leave, though I confess, I don`t know the circumstances of Deportivo Cali`s loan arrangement.
Perhaps they could recall him to be sold.
As the MLS season is over in October, there`s the possibility of a January transfer, as well.
Regardless, I`d be shocked if this went anywhere. Though, I`ve been wrong before.
