The trip to Upton Park looks set to open up a few old wounds!

The fixture sees Danny Murphy and Paul Konchesky in opposition to the manager, Alan Curbishley, they once played for.

Both players, upon leaving the stewardship of Curbishley, were on the receiving ends of a vociferous outburst.

Murphy seems to have been the one who got the normally placid Curbishley hot under the collar.

This is what Curbishley had to say about Danny,

“Danny Murphy has the ability, of that there is no doubt, and when he came (to Charlton) we fitted the team around him to a certain extent.”

“When it suited him though, when a bigger club came in for him, he dumped us. That`s what I was really disappointed with and I told him.”

Surely that`s what happens in football isn`t it?

As for Paul Konchesky, he upset Curbishley with some remarks he made when he decided to leave Upton Park for Craven Cottage.

Wrongly or rightly, Paul was quoted as remarking that Upton Park was an unhappy place further suggesting that Carlos Tevez and Daren Bent had refused to sign because of Curbishley.

Curbishley obviously took this to heart and at one stage looked as if he was going to sue Konchesky. However, he settled for a counter-swipe in the direction of Paul, suggesting,

“Paul Koncheskey did well for me at Charlton but showed his class by coming out and saying the things he said”

Ouch! Put those claws away Curbs!

Should be a feisty affair then! I wonder if they`ll get to shake hands?
