With West Ham, Tottenham and Everton failing to pick up maximum points and with Manchester City expected to get turned over at Old Trafford this afternoon, Fulham are back in the box seat as far as Europa League qualification is concerned.

With Roy Hodgson muttering concerns about playing in Europe every week and with those concerns growing in volume, he naturally had to comment on the proposal as well as our fine performance, after the 3-1 win against Villa, remarking,

‘It’s important we don’t get carried away by talk of Europe, but I can’t deny it was one of our best performances of the season.”

‘It was important we bounced back from the Chelsea defeat, when we didn’t do ourselves any justice.”

‘The quality of our passing was exceptional and there were some very good individual performances.”

Perhaps matters were aided by the fact Villa chose to match us playing football and never tried to stick a midfield enforcer in their side until it was too late.

As for the opposition manger, Martin O`Neill was a far from happy man in his press conference, commenting,

‘You wouldn’t have believed we have been a top-six side all season based on our second-half performance.”

‘We just didn’t play well enough and it’s impossible to take anything away from Fulham, they deserved to win.”

‘We had plenty of possession, but the two halves were like night and day.’

And I guess when Diomansy Kamara scored in the first minute of the second half it was akin to getting out of the wrong side of the bed then Martin!
