Fulham – The Bobby Zamora Show!

Last night, over in Basel, Bobby Zamora once again produced the goods.

Our striker is in a rich vein of form and his two goals last night saw the 1300 Fulham supporters, who had travelled to Switzerland, to burst out into a chorus of,

“Bobby for England.”

Now we`re not sure if Bobby can, or will, gatecrash the 2010 World Cup squad but Roy Hodgson, interviewed after the match last night, was very appreciative of his efforts, commenting,

“Bobby is a popular player – the fans seem to appreciate him and like him.”

“The one criticism is that he hasn`t scored enough goals but nine goals is a pretty good return for any forward.”

“He was very unlucky to have a goal ruled out for offside, and he was a real thorn in the flesh of the Basel defence. I took him off as a precaution – he had a slight problem with his back. But he`s got to be delighted with his performance.”

And to think, our Bobby was given the opportunity to discuss a possible move to Hull City in the summer.

What were we thinking of?
