It`s ‘Thanksgiving Day ‘ in the USA today and we thought it`d be the perfect opportunity to advise you that, in the very near future, we`ll be running a series of articles relating to probably one of the bravest footballers ever to wear the white shirt of Fulham, Brian McBride.

McBride left Craven Cottage shortly after that monumental day at Fratton Park, whereby our Premier League survival was achieved courtesy of a late Danny Murphy goal. Knowing that his contract was up and accepting that his desire to return to the USA and play the last few years of his football for his home town club was still prevalent, he refused any offers to stay.

Much of the material for this exclusive series of articles comes direct from a Chicago publication that was fed to me via our e-mail address, for that we are eternally grateful because thanks to this feed, we now have the perfect opportunity to close the book on a perfect role model for those who seek a profession in this fantastic game of us.

Stay tuned for a scintillating series.
