With Fulham currently on an unbeaten run and with Roy Hodgson contemplating exactly where to put his October ‘Manager of the Month` award in his office, this latest international break couldn`t have come at a worse time.
We`re left with a blank weekend during which the only attraction, if you`re not interested in lower league football, are the latest crop of World Cup qualifiers which, incidentally, feature very few of our current crop of first team players.
So, for the second time, in a very short space of time, we`re left to twiddle our thumbs contemplating what to do on a weekend that would normally be reserved for premier League football.
Naturally, the television stations will talk up the internationals and try and kid us that England playing Brazil is of real importance when in reality it is just one giant fund raising and back-slapping exercise.
But, worst of all, with no Premier League football to occupy the male population there is the inherent danger that we`ll all be dragged around the shops to do the Christmas shopping!
Fulham – Thanks a Bunch!
