Fulham Target – Billy Davies!

With Lawrie Sanchez having only recently taken over the managerial position, speculation is rife about his future.

At the moment it would seem that Sanchez has only been given the remainder of the season to make his mark, in other words those in charge want to see the ex-Wimbledon player keep Fulham up.

However, behind the scenes it would appear that those in charge of Fulham secretly harbour a desire to recruit a replacement in the shape of current Derby County boss, Billy Davies.

Davies, who is currently steering Derby towards Premiership football after almost taking Preston there whilst managing the Lancashire club, has supposedly been recommended to Al Fayed by the ex-Scotland coach, Craig Brown. Craig is off course and advisor to Al Fayed when it comes to all things Fulham.

However, any immediate move for Davies was thought to have been not sanctioned as Fulham were wary of trying to take Davies with his club so close to promotion.

Derby have four games in which to secure Premiership football and stories suggest that if he is successful Davies will land a £500,000 bonus.

Sadly, whilst the idea may seem good on paper, you get the impression that it could well be a non-starter considering what Davies would be leaving behind to come to a club that, in all honesty, is struggling.
