In amongst all the stuffing ourselves stupid with festive food and becoming drunker by the minute, thanks to festive booze, one rumour slipped through our radar.

Lurking in the Daily Mirror gossip column, was the suggestion that Roy Hodgson is tracking a Swedish youngster, Rasmus Elm.

Elm, is a twenty year old midfielder currently playing for the Scandinavian side Kalmar. Apparently, his contract has just twelve months left on it and Fulham are keen to persuade him to further his career in the Premier League.

Sadly, this could be no-go as far as a transfer completion is concerned as Elm has openly admitted that he doesn`t feel this is the time to leave his homeland as he`d prefer to stay and push for a place in the Swedish U21 side remarking,

“It is great they`ve shown interest but this is the wrong time in my
career.”

Well I suppose there`s no harm in trying!
