Not to long ago a tabloid linked us with the Southampton midfielder Andrew Surman.

We were, at the time, unable to establish whether there was any evidence to support the rumour. But, if Surman is a target, January could be the perfect time to launch a raid on the south-coast club.

According to reports filtering through, Southampton are struggling for capital and are looking to offload several players to stave off the threat of going into administration and the subsequent loss of ten points, points that would see them flirting with relegation to League One.

Apparently, a fee of £1.5 million could be sufficient to swing the deal our way.

We`ll keep you posted.

  • We have also been linked with Lallana from them. Very promising left-winger.
Personally, I can’t see any reason to get rid of Baird at the moment. We have no CB cover at all, and he has also done well as a DM to close out a game. We need to keep him, at least until we sign sufficient replacements and cover.
