Fulham – Stop Gap for Kamara?

In 2007 we coughed up the princely sum of £6 million for the services of Diomansy Kamara.

Injuries have seriously impacted upon his Fulham career but he has shown us the occasional glimpse of what he can do, most notably the season before last when his goals helped rescue us from an impossible situation at Manchester City.

But, with a strike duo of Zamora and Johnson favoured by Roy Hodgson and with Nevland looking like the next in line, I guess we can`t really blame the twenty-eight year old Kamara if he`s a little impatient for regular first team football.

Sadly though it does rankle a little bit that the Senegal striker is so keen to hawk his services across Europe reputedly remarking,

“I am closest to Bordeaux now.”

“They have made contact with my agents, and I am very pleased.”

“They`ve won the title and will be in the Champions League.”

“I`m happy at Fulham but would be tempted by a new challenge in France.”

I can` be the only one who thinks those quotes were perfectly acceptable until the last line can i?

Sounds like me that Diomansy is happy at our quaint little old club until something better comes along at which time he`ll be out of the door quicker than a rat up a drain pipe!
