Our friends over at Vital Leicester are running an article that implies Fulham may be about to say goodbye to David Stockdale!

Well for twelve months at least!

After gaining promotion to the Championship (congratulations lads) their manager is, according to Vital Leicester, trying to negotiate a season long loan for the youngster.

Here at Vital Fulham we`d suggest it`ll all depend on whether thirty-eight year old Pascal Zuberbuhler is able to offer cover for Mark Schwarzer for another season.

We`ll keep you informed of any news we hear on the matter.

  • If Zuberbuhler is not up to it, there are a few keepers who are out of contract this summer. Jason Brown from Blackburn and Henrique Hilario from Chelsea will likely be available. The most interesting one is Ross Turnbull from Middlesbrough, who just recently turned down a new contract. Probably being looked at by bigger clubs, but you never know.

  • Just seen the Zoltan with his missus in Kingston down by the Thames. Legeeeeeeeeeeend!

  • Fair enough. He’s not going to replace Schwarzer (right now), so is it better to get 1st team football at Leicester or sit the bench in London? If Stockdale’s OK with playing reserve games and the odd cup match, drop Zuberbuhler and make Stockdale the #2.

  • i think another year of first team action would be good for him… he’s not going to take over next year, so why bother… we can get someone to cover…

  • Agreed, i think we should let him go so long as we have a clause to get him back should both become injured (which there is little to no chance of happenin)
