With Fulham closing in on a promotion play-off place and with ambitions of finishing in the top-two, the club announced that they have made an addition to the squad.

Taking advantage of the January transfer window being open, the Cottagers have agreed a loan deal with Southampton that will see a young defender come to the club on loan.

The defender in question is Matt Targett who will remain at Craven Cottage for the remainder of the 2017 / 2018 season.

Targett, just 22-years-of-age, is a left-back who has Premier League experience.

However, the youngster has seen his chances restricted this season and has only made two appearances in the Premier League for the club.

Talking to the Official Site, Targett has remarked about his loan move to Fulham,

‘One of the main reasons I joined is that the club is in a great place at the moment and results have been fantastic. I can’t wait to be a part of that.”

Welcome to Craven Cottage Matt, we hope your stay with us is both enjoyable and productive.
