The wait is over, Fulham been allocated a place in the Europa League next season.

Any concerns that the plethora of yellow cards we received in or last two games plus the added concern of the red card Zoltan Gera picked up in the final game, were proved to be ill-founded.

Although our near neighbours, Chelsea, topped the Fair Play League, the fact that they had already qualified for the Champions League meant that the place, awarded by UEFA, was given to the team that finished second – us.

Over the course of the season points were not only accumulated for red and yellow cards but also for positive play. Respect towards opponents and the behaviour of club officials.

I guess we`ll now be having a shortened break as we prepare for our second Europa League campaign, let`s hope it`s as lively as our first!

  • Uuuhhhmmm…. “YIPPEE”, I guess. Not sure how the squad will deal with the early start, but perhaps Hoesen, Kacaniklic, Dalla Valle and the youngsters can see us through the opening fixtures and allow the seniors to rest a little.

  • that’s what i’m hoping for and it seems like that is what hughes is planning… he said it’s tough to get the quality right for each round, so i imagine it won’t be starters all the way through… and not to squabble, but we finished 4th behind chelsea, tottenham and man u in that order… according to the Fulham FC website…

  • we we’re 0.01 above blackpool it was very close, europe here we come again COYW!!!!!!!!!

  • A question pops to mind hearing this. Anyone think Gera might be convinced to stay? The sheer number of extra games means there will be a massive amount of squad rotation.

  • do we want him to stay? he was crap this year, and not good in the prem last year… great in europe though, but i’d think we can do better…
