It`s off the DW Stadium this weekend to play a Wigan side that blows as hot and cold as we do.

After the trauma of Rome with two players suffering from red card fever, it`ll be interesting to see if Fulham suffer any kind of reaction to the defeat.

Previous excursions into Europe have, sometimes, resulted in lethargic performances in the Premier League the following weekend.

Our Aussie keeper, Mark Schwarzer, who no chance with either of the AS Roma goals, doesn`t think that will be the case, remarking in the media,

“I don`t think it will affect the team.”

“We`ve had a very good run the last couple of weeks and decisions against Roma were made that were out of our hands.”

“Now we must recover as much as possible and prepare for Sunday`s game at Wigan which will be tough.”

“We played with 10 men for most of the second half in Rome and we just need to make sure we recover in time for Sunday`s game.”

Indeed we do but something else troubles me!

With Roy Hodgson having picked up the Manager of the Month award for October, can we now expect the almost obligatory blip now that the award has been announced?
