After being thrashed 5-2, at the Cottage, by Birmingham City, Kit Symons was shown the door on Sunday.

Symons becomes the seventh Championship manager to be axed this season and Fulham are now looking for somebody else to take the managerial role.

Having taken over from Felix Magath, Symons was in charge for 64 games with Fulham winning just 22 of them.

Last season, 44-year-old Symons guided the club to a disappointing 17th in the Championship and the home defeat, at the hands of Birmingham City, sees Fulham floundering adrift of the play-off places.

Talking about the decision to relieve Symons of his duty, the club owner Shahid Khan is quoted as having remarked.

‘It is now time to take Fulham to the higher level of success that we expect from our manager and our players.’

It remains to be seen who Shahid Khan will appoint as our next manager.
