Here we sit waiting for confirmation that Andrew Johnson has signed and we get fed a right old appetiser.

After being on trial, it has been announced this morning that Fulham have added ot their goal keeping staff.

Pascal Zuberbuhler, who played on the tour of Korea, has signed a one year deal with us. At thirty-seven years of age he`s probably just been signed as back up in case Mark Schwarzer and David Stockdale get injured.

With Antti Niemi currently nursing a wrist injury, it seems Roy Hodgson couldn`t risk falling short in the keeping department.

So what do we know about the Swiss international?

Zuberbuhler has played for Grasshoppers, FC Basel and West Bromwich Albion before returning to Switzerland with Neuchatel Xamax. He also appeared in Euro 2008 and has amassed 51 international caps.

On joining Fulham he had this to say to the official site,

“I`m very happy to sign for Fulham. I`ve already spent three weeks with the team and we have a very good squad for the new season. I know the Club had a very hard season last year, but I`m confident that this season it will be much, much better. I`m coming here to be successful.

“I know also the situation here with the goalkeepers. I`ve known Mark Schwarzer for a long time and played against him in the past. I know he`s the number one, but I`m here to give my best so that, in the end, the team is successful. That`s my mentality. If I sign a contract with a club I want to be successful. I want to do everything possible to help Fulham have a good season – that`s my number one aim.”

Welcome to Craven Cottage Pascal!
