Fulham Player Gets A Thumbs Up From Gareth Southgate

|

Am I the only one annoyed by what can only be described as a stop-start to the 2018 / 2019 Premier League season?

After one international break, back in September, we’re now only days away from a second, with England set to face Spain and Croatia, in Nations Cup games.

Quite what the managers think of this remains to be seen.

However, despite how annoying I find the situation, I do accept that it is an evil necessity.

But, this time around, this evil necessity is slightly tempered by the fact that Gareth Southgate has called up Marcus Bettinelli to the full squad.

It is the second time that Bettinelli has received recognition for his outstanding performances behind what could be described as a dodgy Fulham defence.

However, despite being called up, here at Vital Fulham, we can’t envisage Marcus getting anything other a place on the bench.

With both games being of a competitive nature, it seems fairly certain that Southgate will opt to play Jordan Pickford between the sticks.

Nevertheless, it is good to see one of our own receive the recognition he deserves for a change.
