Fulham – Our Transfer Predicament?

With the season fast approaching there are genuine concerns that Fulham are lagging behind in the transfer market.

Having signed Kelly and Riise we`ve started to make inroads into bolstering a squad that looks a little light considering the numbers that have left or have been allowed to drift away.

Obviously Roy Hodgson is doing his best to boost numbers but it needs to be done in a correct manner, Roy knows that players of a certain quality need to be brought in.

All summer we`ve been prominent in being linked with some good names but these haven`t materialised and at the official media unveiling of Bjorne Helge Riise, Roy has spoken about his pursuit of targets in the transfer window, commenting,

‘We are obviously, and we make no bones about it or try to disguise the fact that, we are in the market for players.’

‘At the same time trying to improve the quality of squad that we have got is not an easy task.”

‘It isn’t a question amplifying numbers, it is a question of getting the right people in to make us a stronger squad and a stronger team.”

‘In Stephen Kelly [an acquisition from Birmingham City] and Bjorn, I think I have made two decent signings, but I hope they won’t be the last ones we make.”

‘I honestly believe if we are going to get anywhere near where we did last year, especially if we are going to have any success in Europe, we need a stronger and bigger squad of players.’

As usual Roy has his finger on the pulse and we can only sit and wait!
