Any suggestion of qualifying for the Europa League via the Fair Play League is now a false suggestion. Yes, there is only one way now!
This comes after UEFA made their official decision on the countries lucky enough to gain an extra spot in the aforementioned Europa League. This news has been leaked before the final tables have even been drawn up, but Norway, Denmark and Scotland are the privileged countries that will be taking an extra team into Europe.
Was there any hope for us anyway? Well, yes, there was, and that is why this day is quite a sad one. Norway were always going to get a place, but after the turn of the year it seemed we stood a good chance of nicking a spot. However, the news has broke, and it is our friends from up North who have stolen England’s place, with them looking likely to be taking Motherwell.
So, there is only one way for us to stamp our mark on Europe next term now; the traditional way!
