With the January transfer window now open, it was only ever going to be a matter of time before we were linked with a potential target, after all, we`ve already advertised the fact that the squad lacks balance and that Al Fayed has made some money available.
Unfortunately, the first target we`ve been linked with in a leading tabloid this morning fills me with dread. The mere mention of his name makes me cringe not that I`ve got anything against him personally. In fact if he were to stay where he currently plies his trade I`d be eternally grateful.
You see, if the rumours are true, it puzzles me why we would even consider signing Harry Kewell from Liverpool. Okay, if the rumoured fee is only £1.5 million it would, on the surface seem a bargain. However, he`s so injury prone I doubt whether we`d see him in a white shirt more than a handful of times.
Therefore, we beg you Roy, if you are looking in the direction of Anfield, please don`t focus on Harry Kewell. He`s not what we need.
