Fulham, who have never won at Anfield, lost to a second half on-slaught by Liverpool, to see them go 3rd in the league with a 4-0 win.

Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher, Luis Garcia and Marc Gonzalez all scored for Liverpool in the second half.

It was an quiet first half which saw Fulham’s Brian McBride’s superb strike saved by Liverpool keeper Pepe Reina, Fulham were really in the game but could not make the best of their chances, Liverpool players also had a few missed chances notably from Luis Garcia and Dirk Kuyt.

But after the interval, Liverpool took control of the game.

And on 54 minutes. Dirk Kuyt’s shot was deflected onto Ian Pearce’s hands, and the ref blew for a Penalty, Steven Gerrard stepped up but saw his shot saved by Lastuvka, only then smashing the ball into the open net on the rebound.

And then again on 60 minutes, the initial corner by Gerrard floated into the centre and Daniel Agger’s glancing header found Jamie Carragher who sloted home, for his first goal for Liverpool since 1999.

On 66 minutes. Some good work on the wing by Xavi Alonso, who crossed in for Luis Garcia to head home.

A bit of a boring period in which nothing happened for a while but then Liverpool struck again on 90 minutes, with Marc Gonzalez firing in a free-kick from 25 yards.

I know it was Liverpool and I know it was at Anfield, but for Fulham to be taken seriously this season we really need to give these teams a harder game, don’t you think?
