Not sure if we should offer an apology or not?
All summer we`ve dismissed Antti Niemi as a candidate for the keeper`s jersey at Craven Cottage after the signings of Shwarzer and Stockdale, we`ve seen him linked to Hull City and more lately, Liverpool.
In fact we expected to be writing our farewell tribute to a popular figure some time in the next few weeks.
But, if reports filtering through are correct, we`ve more than jumped the gun.
It is being reported by a major news source that Antti has told the club he`s not interested in going to Liverpool to play second fiddle to Pepe Reina but intends to stay and fight Schwarzer for the right to be called number one next season.
That`s the spirit we like to see!
