On the same day that Fulham confirmed they`d signed Moussa Dembele, our captain, Danny Murphy, has re-iterated a genuine point.

With Mark Hughes looking to build on the success Roy Hodgson achieved last season and in particular that marvelous Europe League run, Danny has urged Hughes to sort out the situation whereby eight players are on contracts that have a year or so less.

Murphy feels that it is essential this situation is sorted out quickly otherwise all the good work Hodgson achieved could be jeopardized by a massive change in playing personal and speaking to the media has quipped,

“Strangely the club has let seven or eight players get to the end of their contract which I don`t think is healthy.”

“It is important we get that sorted because it`s difficult for players when they have a year left on their contract.”

What`s your feeling on this subject? Should we keep all those whose contracts are entering the final stages or should we be picky and only keep a certain few?

  • New managers always want their own players. I could see us keeping a few, but I think it’s quite likely that the majority will go.

  • This hasn?t happened by accident, I hope he keeps the core of the squad but we do need some young blood to come in as well, as we have quite an old first team

  • i wonder if murphy is in that camp… does he want a new contract? i’d like to see the list of players on their last year… see whom i would keep… maybe a poll putney?
