Incredibly bad-boy Craig Bellamy got away with giving the Manchester United pitch invader a slap with the authorities set to bring no charges.
Considering his previous catalogue of misdemeanours, both on an doff the pitch, it`s a little surprising.
Danny Murphy, on the other hand, cannot for the life of him understand why the Welshman ever got involved and is quoted in the media as remarking,
“Craig Bellamy slapping a fan was crazy.”
“If he was confronted directly, then it is only normal to defend yourself but the fact that the stewards had hold of him, made his actions unreasonable.”
“His emotions were clearly running high after scoring two wonderful goals but it was a silly error of judgement on his behalf.”
So what should have been the outcome?
Is Danny right? As Bellamy out of order or is it al a storm in a tea cup with the no punishment outcome being right?
Fulham – Murphy on the Welsh Hot-Head!

i don’t think a professional ever has the right to attack a fan, no matter how severe or reserved the attack is… it’s just not right.
and why was that retard Rio getting involved?
good point AL – East End reject!
Why did one of your players feel the need to comment on this when it had nothing to do with him or your club and anyway he got away with it.
