We`re sitting eighth in the table and the view is exhilarating!
After the ‘Great Escape` of last year, things, at the moment, are looking considerably better. Our points total, if you`re the eternal pessimist, shows four more wins and we`ll have virtually passed that perennial benchmark for survival, forty points.
The eternal optimists amongst us will, no doubt, be looking towards a push on and a possible UEFA Cup place next season.
Nevertheless, despite which camp you sit in, there`s no denying Roy Hodgson has turned matters around considerably and it`s probably fair to say, this is the best side we`ve had in a long time. Therefore, it`d be a shame to see money come in the way of a continuation of our success and the Bullard rumours refuse to fade away with a leading tabloid once again suggesting Bolton Wanderers are ready to pounce.
These thoughts were echoed by Danny Murphy when interviewed after the 3-0 win over Middlesbrough, a win that had Danny commenting about his great pal Bullard,
“This is the best squad Fulham have had in a long time. Jimmy is an integral part of it and there`s no way we want our best players to leave.”
“I hope Jimmy can sort it out because we know what his qualities are.”
“His performances are tremendous and that`s two goals in his last two home games.”
“He`s a friend and I want him to stay because he`s a top player, but if a bigger and better club came calling I wouldn`t stand here and say he would definitely stay because everyone has ambition.”
“He gets about the pitch. He`s on the right wing one minute and left-back the next.”
“When it`s a bit dull and flat he`s the one trying to make things happen.
Have a word in his shell-like Danny and tell him Bolton, Spurs or whoever may show an interest that Craven Cottage is still the place to be!
