Fulham – Most Absurd Quote Ever!

During the course of a Premier League season we`re privileged to hear all manner of absurdity.

Outlandish claims and prognostications from pundits, journalists, fans, coaches and players are nothing new, but following Fulham`s loss to Everton this weekend, Roy Hodgson made perhaps the most absurd comment I`ve ever heard.

Speaking to the media in his typical dignified, reserved, self-effacing manner, Roy unleashed this little gem:

‘I don’t like ranking achievement but this one will always be one of the finest moments. When I came to Fulham we looked doomed and a year-and-a-half later we are in seventh place and in Europe – and I do think that is an achievement.”

‘I don’t want to take credit for that. I am a cog in the wheel. I am a person who prepares the players but they deserve the credit. The fans pay to see the players not me.”

I am a cog in the wheel??!?

I am a cog in the wheel??!?

Now, I like our players. I like our chairman. I like our entire organization. But, I am of the opinion that Roy Hodgson is the singular reason why we are playing in Europe next season; beyond the fact that he`s the only reason we were even in the Premiership this season.

Roy, Take a bow!
